Good gravy, what a mixed bag of luck! I got these way-overpriced tickets from stubhub almost 3 months ago and waited in breathless anticipation of taking Her Ladyship on a night on the town.
Good luck: We got to use Diane Lee's parking pass. Bad luck: It started raining on the way downtown and all the way to the ball park.
Good: A guy dressed in Target red & white offers to give us a lift on 9th & Marquette to Target field on his bike-rickshaw thingie. Free of charge, no tips! Away we went. Bad: It's raining too hard to take any pictures downtown.
Good: It stops raining well before first pitch. My friend Kurt from work is in section 325 but we did not make it up there. Bad: I slop mustard, sauerkraut and ice cream all over my Morneau jersey. Mrs. Dodger will Shout it out.
Good: Great game, pitchers duel. Buehrle had the one bad inning but otherwise pitched well. Pavano was a little bit better, Twins win, 3-2! Bad: It starts raining as soon as we leave the stadium! No photography.
Good: We make it to the car before it really starts pouring. Bad: Then it really started pouring. What a hairy trip back to Diane's to drop off her pass. Missie & Jason were there, their power was out. Very nice folks, they offered to let us wait it out but we declined.
Good: We make it home in one piece. Bad: Our power is out, too! And I locked the storm door. We can't get into the @#$@# house!! Mrs. Dodger is extremely unhappy. Her tomato plant got knocked over, the poor doggies are stuck inside in pitch dark. We went to Mac & Dons . . . everyone else in Roseville has power except our little 2-square block area.
Good: I put a slight tear in the screen and unlock the door, we're in. Bad: We were without power until a little after midnight. Internet and cable TV non-functional, I'll take it up in the morning.
So there it is, all I've got are game pictures for you today. I will make it up to you by getting some cool HDR from downtown later in the week.
UPDATE: Twins rally in 9th to win today, 7-6!
